The number of women in STEM in the UK is currently worryingly low , yet in recent years many wonderful initiatives have been launched in order to turn this around. Here at BLOSSOM we want to get to the next step and really get to the core of the problem.
Written by a former A level STEM student, who believes that women decide to no longer consider STEM at critical aspects of their lives due lack of encouragement. This website focuses mainly on the years women spend in secondary education and college because this is around the time when women decide whether to continue or leave STEM behind.
What makes this website different? We want to talk about the day to day aspect of being a woman in STEM, but most importantly beginning your studies as a women in STEM. We want to talk about the everyday situations that can occur as a woman studying STEM that we believe are the critical points where women decide to leave. This website has educational resources, tips and tricks for when things just aren't going right and of course inspiration.
If there's only one thing you look at on this website, let it be the blog - you will not regret it!
