Inspiration and Motivation
Studying STEM subjects offers you the world, all in the palm of your hand. We live in a world that simultaneously seems to be widening with opportunities as well as going backwards. This is where STEM comes in. many of the problems we face today are ethical and can easily make you feel powerless but STEM allows you to tackle these head on, with practical means.
A good example is climate change. We are bombarded with facts and figures about how in 50 odd years the Earth will undergo environmental extinction and it can make us feel pretty powerless. But through the study of STEM you can start see real practical solutions. You acquire the skills to potentially invent something that could solve these overwhelming problems.
Or how about how of the biggest killers known to humankind, cancer? Why can't you be the person to find the potential cure to such a devastating disease, who's to say it's not you?
